So, it appears the execution of Saddam Husein was not as carefully executed as the Maliki government would have liked us to think. In the end, it was chaotic, raucous, and included spite-filled epithets.
However, I still find hope in the fact that the government was embarrassed enough to try to cover up the debacle. You couldn't say the same for Julius Caesar's murder, or even for Mussolini's execution and public desecration in the 20th Century.
Then again, maybe it's just Italian dictators who come to terrible and public ends. Something to look into.
