High tenor voices singing beautiful music can often make me weepy, even if the song is sweet. And the aria Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot is so bittersweet that it usually makes me weepy (although I have no idea what the words mean or what the story of Turandot is).
So, having news programs playing Luciano Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma in tribute all day long has made for a pretty weepy Thursday.
